The course "Fashion Design – Planning and Creating Fashion Collections for a Brand" will provide students with a comprehensive academic understanding of the complex planning and design processes behind creating successful and relevant fashion collections. During this in-depth and professional course, students will embark on an extensive journey from the initial thinking and planning stages, through designing the collection itself in accordance with a brand's unique style and target audience characteristics, to its perfect presentation and proper marketing.
The course will begin by imparting in-depth knowledge about "target audience" characteristics – age, gender, lifestyle, economic status, and more. Young students will learn how to identify the unique needs and expectations of this audience, and accordingly plan a collection that speaks to them directly in a relevant manner. Subsequently, professional techniques will be taught for building a balanced and purpose-oriented collection mix, including a variety of items for different uses.
Participants will focus on the design and pattern-making processes of various items, alongside delineating coherent design lines that reflect the collection's character, contemporary trends, and professional industry practices. Special emphasis will be placed on the processes of selecting raw materials, embroidery patterns, coloration, and finishes suitable for the collection's style and overall look, including a smart combination of natural and standard materials alongside luxurious and innovative materials.
The course will also discuss the practical stages of producing a fashion collection – submitting the collection plan to the factory, professional commercial production processes, quality control, and supervision of compliance with stringent standards. Emphasis will be placed on maintaining proper interfaces with contractors and suppliers to produce the collection at the highest level.
Towards the end of the course, professional guidance will be provided regarding the presentation and marketing of the collection – preparing fashion shows, visual photography, various marketing and sales channels, printing samples, and final production in large quantities.
Upon completion of this course, young students will be equipped with a professional toolbox including extensive theoretical and practical knowledge, enabling them to plan, design, and implement high-quality fashion collections relevant and tailored to the brand style and unique target audience.
* The course material will be tailored to the age of the learners.
